Hospital Equipment Post-Implementation Review

Bwari General Hospital, Abuja — May 2018

The donation of Hospital Equipment to Bwari General Hospital by the Japan Embassy was implemented by Women's Right to Education Programme (WREP) and commissioned by the Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria in conjunction with the FCT and Health Ministers in June 2016.

Two years after project implementation, beneficiaries and the donor were satisfied with the outcome. The post-implementation visit was conducted by the Japan Embassy GGP team together with WREP, assessing whether project objectives were met and documenting lessons for the future.

Findings

All donated equipment were intact, with 85% in very good shape. Equipment covered included Stethoscopes, Digital Thermometers, Operating Beds, Sorption Machines, Incubators, Forceps, Trash Carts, Optic Equipment and more. The GGP team from the Japanese Embassy were very impressed by the outcome and the effective usage of the equipment.

Hospital Capacity

The Medical Director noted that the Japanese people through this project greatly enhanced service delivery beyond the hospital community, and that the partnership with WREP delivered exceptional value for resources committed.
